L'ECOLE DE TENNIS
L’Ecole de Tennis uses a two step approach, with two different development stages of learning and progression.
MINI-TENNIS
“Mini-Tennis” level with classes for children age 6 and under who are just starting out in tennis. Players are trying to get acquainted with how their bodies work and how the racquet interacts with the ball.
Red/Orange felt ball will be used for rallies and they are slightly slower moving and reduced bounce from green felt ball giving more time to get to and return shots, helping students to develop good technique, motor and hand-eye coordination drills.
The racket size for this class is 21-23″ dependent on the size of the student, and the small court size will be used.
The best 6-7 years old will be ready to move up to the Future level for a more complete and advanced development.
FUTURE
“Future” level with classes for children age 10 and under who have been playing tennis for a couple years more or less. The players learn to move and play on a larger court, still relevant to their size.
The players are still gaining more experience and reinforcing a good technique to take their game to the next level. The goal is to help players develop tournament mentality backed by a good utilization of their strokes.
The a larger court size will be used with the use of orange balls only. The racket size for this class is 23-25″ dependent on the size of the player, and the intermediate court size will also be used (60′ x 27’singles; 60′ x 36′ doubles).
The best 8-10 years old will be ready to compete in tournaments for the 10 and Under age group Novice and Satellite.
